Birdhouse

I did not build this birdhouse, but I DID paint it!

tools & bench

So I needed tools. My Dad bought me a beautiful set of wrenches, and I've since acquired a set of Stanley screwdrivers (from Walmart), a Mastercraft jigsaw (Canadian Tire), a Mitre Box with saw (Walmart) and various needful things (safety glasses, work gloves, dust masks, etc.)....I borrowed my Dads' back issues of Canadian Home Workshop http://www.canadianhomeworkshop.ca/ and flipped through them -marvelling at the work these people do, and thinking that I too will build awesome things in my workshop. But what's this? These woodworkers have work benches! I don't have a work bench. I NEED A WORK BENCH!!
..............So, I'm gonna build a workbench........wish me luck!

I Got No Tools!

When we bought our current house in Penetanguishene, Ontario, it came with a garage....Now, I've never had a garage & always admired people who did - especially when I would see guys hanging out in there, having a couple of beers & looking at tools & making things...

So when I got my own garage, my plan was to do it up like I had seen so many others do, an build a workshop in there so I too could hang out & build stuff. Once I got (most of) the boxes unpacked and put away, I wanted a pegboard to hold all my tools. I went to Home Hardware in Midland, bought some pegboard, some hooks, got it home & put it on the wall. When all was said & done,(okay, my wife told me I had to leave some clearance for the hooks. "Put up some wood, THEN you put up the pegboard, Honey!)...Anyway, when all was said & done, I turned around, put my hammer up there, my rusty pliers and said: "I GOT NO TOOLS!"
